Signs that it is time to quit your Job and focus on your Business Full-time

A lot of business owners who run businesses on the side are confused about when to switch to business full-time. You cannot blame them. The business world may be a world of uncertainty, especially at the early stages. Quitting your job to face a business full-time means leaving a world of “certain” payment for that world of uncertainty. So, when is it best to quit your day job and face a business full-time?

Making the full transition from a day job to a business is one of the hardest decisions a business owner may have to make. It involves a lot of planning and preparation. You cannot just wake up one morning and decide to quit your job for a business. It does not work that way; forget what that motivational speaker has told you.

This post highlights signs that mean that it is actually the right time to quit your job and face your business full-time. There is no “One size fits all” for when to quit your job; no one should make that decision for you. However, there are some signs that show that it may be the right time for that. So, without further ado, here goes.

    1. Your job does not allow you enough free time to face your business

If you are really interested in growing your business, then you need to dedicate enough time to it. If your day job does not allow you enough free time for your business, then it may be time to quit that job and face your business full-time.

Of course, this is a matter of priorities. If your business does not rank higher than your day job on your priorities list, then maybe it would be a bad idea to actually quit your job to face the business. However, if your business ranks higher, it may be a good investment to quit your job.

    2. Your business has started making you enough money

Many people make the mistake of quitting their day jobs before their businesses get solid footing. Eventually, they may not have enough money to run the business anymore. Imagine running out of funds when you need them the most.

What this means is that you may quit your job to face your business when the business starts making you enough money. If the business is not bringing in enough money yet, then maybe you should remain in your job. You can keep running your business with funds from your salary until your business grows enough.

    3. You get more fulfilment from your business than you do from your job

If you get more fulfilment from your business than from your day job, then it may be time to quit the job and face the business full-time. At the end of the day, everyone wants fulfilment, right? This boils down to doing what you believes will make you fulfilled.

On the flip side, if your business is not bringing you fulfilment, then maybe you need to rethink it. Sometimes, you may have to quit that business and focus on your job properly.
